JeI volunteers to build quarters where the affected families can spend the winter season before rebuilding their houses. The shelter would consist of ply walls and corrugated tin roof.

“Keeping in view the harsh winter season, we decided to build a temporary shelter for the affected families”, says Bashir Ahmad Lone, Ameer-e-Zilah Srinagar of Jama’at-e-Islami.

The organisation can accommodate about twenty families in these temporary quarters, says Khalid. “And further are ready to provide any kind of help within our capacity.”

But as chill is intensifying in valley, the affected families decry that surviving in these shelters wouldn’t be possible for them.

“It would get impossible to live within these prefabricated tents after a few days when it would snow,” says Showkat. “So, our immediate requirement was to arrange for a shelter.”

Barring Kashmiris from religious obligations’ an epitome of ‘agenda of alliance’, says Jama’at

Srinagar: Expresses its strong resentment over the continuous lockdown of historical Grand Mosque of Srinagar on 19th consecutive Friday, by present PDP-BJP combine, Jama’at-e-Isami Jammu and Kashmir terms it a wicked design aimed at paving way for communal and fascist forces to run the state on the lines of Hindu-Rashtra.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir said, people of Kashmir have been deprived from right to live since the PDP fell under the feet of BJP and now from past five months, this Muslim majority state is restricted from performing religious duties like Nimaz. It is the worst from of violation of rights when a person is being barred from his religious duty.

Since July 8, those namesake Muslims who are in the corridors of power have lockdown the historical grand Mosque of Srinagar on the dictation of their masters, want to run this Muslim majority region on the line of Hindu-Rashtra for their political interests and thus the power lusting local collaborators have proved once again that they can go to any height to be in chair, Jama’at said.

Those who used the word ‘secularism’ for their political interests and are beating drums have been exposed completely as they allowed communal and fascist forces in Jammu, Kishtwar and Doda to march openly with armory in broad day light with the help of administration, but innocent and defenseless Kashmiris are being killed, maimed, injured and also barred from performing their religious duties like Nimaz, Jama’at said.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmri believes that killing of innocents and unarmed Kashmiris and stopping the rest populace from performing their religious duty is a well thought design of people at helm and seems that this is the epitome of ‘agenda of alliance’ prepared by opportunistic and power hungry people.

Moreover, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir expresses its regret over the killing of aged Ghulam Mohammad Khan of Illahibagh, Soura who was hit by a tear gas shell by CRPF personnel and termed it worst form of state terrorism. Jama’at urges national and international human rights bodies to take strong cognizance of crimes committed by Indian forces in Kashmir and to bring the culprits into justice.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir said, police and other forces in valley have created a war like situation and have detained thousands of youths including school going children. Government forces are deliberately compressed the people of Kashmir and thus are being involved in spoiling their future.

Presently there are countless youth who have been detained by police under infamous law ‘Public Safety Act’ and have been lodged in far flung prisons which is itself a brute violation of democratic norms, Jama’at said.

Similarly Advocate Zahid Ali, spokesperson of Jama’at, who is under police custody and is confined in sub-jail Kothibagh since 31 August 2016, yesterday police produced him in police station Shaheed Gunj wherein his police remand was extended till 12 November, 2016. Government and its agencies are actually terrified from the status of Zahid Ali and it is why he is being entrapped under false and flimsy cases in order to prolong his detention, Jama’at said.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir vehemently denounces the hostile behavior of police towards innocent and defenseless Kashmiris and urges all human rights bodies to take effective and concrete measures for the safety and well being of defenseless Kashmiris.

Life of Mus'ab bin Umair radiAllahu anhu

Historians and narrators describe Mus'ab ibn 'Umair (son of 'Umair) as the most charming of the Makkans, the most handsome and youthful, the flower of the Quraish! He was born and brought up in wealth, grew up with its luxuries, pampered by his parents, the talk of the ladies of Makkah, the jewel of its clubs and assemblies.

The youth heard one day about Muhammad the Truthful sent by Allah as bearer of glad tidings and a warner to call them to the worship of One God. When Makkah slept and awoke, there were no other talk but the Prophet and his religion and this spoiled boy was one of the most attentive listeners. That was because, although he was young, the outward appearance of wisdom and common sense were among the traits of Mus'ab.

He went one night to the house of Al-Arqam Ibn Al-Arqam, yearning and anxious. There, the Prophet was meeting his Companions, reciting the Quran to them and praying with them to Allah the Most Exalted.Mus'ab had hardly taken his seat and contemplated the verses of the Quran recited by the Prophet when his heart became the promised heart that night. The pleasure almost flung him from his seat as he was filled with a wild ecstasy. But the Prophet patted his throbbing heart with his blessed right hand, and the silence of the ocean's depth filled his heart. In the twinkling of an eye, the youth who had just become Muslim appeared to have more wisdom than his age and a determination that would change the course of time.

Mus'ab's mother was Khunaas Bint Maalik and people feared her almost to the point of terror because she possessed a strong personality. Mus'ab was satisfied with his faith and avoided the anger of his mother who had knowledge of his embracing Islam. He continued to frequent Daar Al-Arqam and take lessons from the Prophet. The news eventually reached his mother who was astonished by it. His mother aimed a heavy blow on him. However, his mother, under the pressure of her motherliness, spared him the beating and the pain, although it was within her power to avenge her gods whom he had abandoned. Instead, she took him to a rough corner of her house and shut him in it. She put shackles on him and imprisoned him there.

Mus'ab heard the news of the emigration of some of the believers to Abyssinia and managed to delude his mother and his guards, and so escaped to Abyssinia with his fellow emigrants. Later, he returned to Makkah and emigrated again for the second time under the advice of the Prophet. Mus'ab became confident that his life had been good enough to be offered as a sacrifice to the Supreme Originator and great Creator. He went out one day to some Muslims while they were sitting around the Prophet, and no sooner did they see him than they lowered their heads and shed some tears because they saw him wearing wornout garments. They were accustomed to his former appearance before he had become a Muslim, when his clothes had been like garden flowers, elegant and fragrant.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, saw him with the eyes of wisdom, thankful and loving, and his lips smiled gracefully as he said, "I saw Mus'ab here, and there was no youth in Makkah more petted by his parents than he. Then he abandoned all that for the love of Allah and His Prophet!"

His mother had withheld from him all the luxury he had been overwhelmed by, when she could not return him to her religion. Her last connection with him was when she tried to imprison him for a second time after his return from Abyssinia, and he swore that if she did that, he would kill all those who came to her aid to lock him up. She knew the truth of his determination when he was intent and decided to do something, and so she bade him goodbye weeping. When she said to him, "Go away, I am no longer your mother," Mus'ab went close to her and said, "O Mother, I am advising you and my heart is with you, please bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger." She replied to him, angrily raging, "By the stars, I will never enter your religion, to degrade my status and weaken my senses!"

So Mus'ab left the great luxury in which he had been living. He became satisfied with a hard life he had never seen before, wearing the roughest clothes, eating one day and going hungry another. This spirit, which was grounded in the strongest faith, adorned with the light of Allah, made him another man, one who appeals to the eyes of other great souls. While he was in this state, the Prophet commissioned him with the greatest mission of his life, which was to be his envoy to Al-Madinah. His mission was to instruct the Ansar who believed in the Prophet and had pledged their allegiance to him at 'Aqabah, to call others to Islam, and to prepare Al-Madinah for the day of the great Hijrah.

There were among the Companions of the Prophet at that time who older than Mus'ab and more prominent and nearer to the Prophet by family relations but the Prophet chose Mus'ab the Good. Mus'ab was equal to the task and trust which Allah had given him and he was equipped with an excellent mind and noble character. He won the hearts of the Madinites with his piety, uprightness and sincerity. And so they embraced the religion of Allah in flocks. At the time the Prophet sent him there, only 12 Muslims had pledged allegiance to the Prophet. During the next pilgrimage season, a few months after that, the Madinite Muslims sent a delegation of 70 believing men and women to Makkah to meet the Prophet. They came with their teacher and their Prophet's envoy, Mus'ab Ibn 'Umair. Mus'ab had proven, by his good sense and excellence, that the Prophet knew well how to choose his envoys and teachers.

The days and years passed by. The Prophet and his Companions emigrated to Al-Madinah, and the Quraish were raging with envy and the Battle of Badr took place, in which they were taught a lesson and lost their strong hold. After that, they prepared themselves for revenge and thus came the Battle of Uhud. The Prophet chose Mus'ab to bear the standard and he advanced and carried it. The terrible battle was raging, the fighting furious. The archers disregarded the orders of the Prophet by leaving their positions on the mountain when they saw the polytheists withdrawing as if defeated. But this act of theirs soon turned the victory of the Muslims to defeat. The Muslims were taken at unawares by the cavalry of the Quraish at the mountain top, and many Muslims were killed by the swords of the polytheists as a consequence.

When they saw the confusion and horror splitting the ranks of the Muslims, the polytheists concentrated on the Prophet of Allah to finish him off. Mus'ab saw the impending threat, so he raised the standard high, shouting, "Allahu Akbar! Allah is the Greatest!" like the roar of a lion. He turned and jumped left and right, fighting and killing the foe.

All he wanted was to draw the attention of the enemy to himself in order to turn their attention away from the Prophet. He thus became as a whole army in himself. Nay, Mus'ab went alone to fight as if he were an army of giants raising the standard in sanctity with one hand, striking with his sword with the other. But the enemies were multiplying on him. They wanted to step on his corpse so that they could find the Prophet.

Let us allow a living witness to describe for us the last scene of Mus'ab the Great. Ibn Sa'd said:

Ibrahim ibn Muhammad related from his father, who said:

Mus'ab Ibn 'Umair carried the standard on the Day of Uhud. When the Muslims were scattered, he stood fast until he met Ibn Quma'ah who was a knight. He struck him on his right hand and cut it off, but Mus'ab said, "And Muhammad is but a Messenger. Messengers have passed away before him" He carried the standard with his left hand and leaned on it. He struck his left hand and cut it off, and so he leaned on the standard and held it with his upper arms to his chest, all the while saying, "And Muhammad is but a Messenger. Messengers have passed away before him". Then a third one struck him with his spear, and the spear went through him.

Mus'ab fell and then the standard. Nay, the cream of martyrdom had fallen! He fell after he had struggled for the sake of Allah in the great battle of sacrifice and faith. He had thought that if he fell, he would be a stepping stone to the death of the Prophet because he would be without defence and protection. But he put himself in harm's way for the sake of the Prophet. Overpowered by his fear for and love of him, he continued to say with every sword stroke that fell on him from the foe, "And Muhammad is but a Messenger. Messengers have passed away before him" This verse was revealed later, after he had spoken it.

After the bitter battle, they found the corpse of the upright martyr lying with his face in the dust, as if he feared to look while harm fell to the Prophet. So he hid his face so that he would avoid the scene. Or perhaps, he was shy when he fell as a martyr, before making sure of the safety of the Prophet of Allah, and before serving to the very end, guarding and protecting him. The Prophet and his Companions came to inspect the scene of the battle and bid farewell to the martyrs. Pausing at Mus'ab's body, many tears dripped from the Prophet's eyes.

Khabbaab ibn Al-Arat narrated: We emigrated with the Prophet for Allah's cause, so our reward became due with Allah. Some of us passed away without enjoying anything in this life of his reward, and of them was Mus'ab ibn 'Umair, who was martyred on the Day of Uhud. He did not leave behind anything except a sheet of shredded woolen cloth. If we covered his feet with it, his head was uncovered, and if we covered his feet with it, his head was uncovered. The Prophet said to us, "Cover his head with it and put lemon grass over his feet."

The Prophet stood at the remains of Mus'ab ibn 'Umair saying, while his eyes were flowing with tears, love and loyalty, "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah" (33:23)

Then he gave a sad look at the garment in which he was shrouded and said, "I saw you at Makkah, and there was not a more precious jewel, nor more distinguished one than you, and here you are bare-headed in a garment!"

Then the Prophet looked at all the martyrs in the battlefield and said, "The Prophet of Allah witnesses that you are martyrs to Allah on the Day of Resurrection."

Then he gathered his living Companions around him and said, "O people, visit them, come to them, and salute them. By Allah, no Muslim will salute them but that they will salute him in return."

Peace be on you, O Mus'ab. Peace be on you, O Martyrs. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you!

Blood and ink cannot flow together, says Jama’at

Srinagar: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemns the use of force by government forces on mourners who were taking body of 16 year old Qaiser Sofi S/o Abdul Hameed Sofi of Shalimar for last rites and terms it worst era of state repression carried by PDP-BJP dispensation.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmri said, the PDP led dispensation have given free a hand to its ferocious forces in Kashmir who have unleash a reign of terror upon unarmed and defenseless people. This is the worst face of those who once said ‘Goli se nahi boli se’ and it is highly deplorable and condemnable.

On one hand power lusting people are distracting gullible people on education and exams and trying to conceal its barbarism but what they (PDP-BJP) will say about this tyranny in which their unruly and uncontrollable forces kills the younger generation of Kashmir in a well planned design and deprived them ‘right to live’, Jama’at said.

What will be the take of Nayeem Akhtar who beats chest over the exam and education, whose forces kill callously school going children since July, 8? If his inner is alive and he is factually much concerned about the future of children in Kashmir and their education, then without wasting a second he should raise the voice against the barbarity committed by those forces on whose behest he (Nayeem Akhar) is enjoying chair and other worldly benefits. He must remind that blood and ink cannot flow together, Jama’at said.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemns the excesses and highhandedness of forces upon mourners at Shalimar and Eidgah, and urges international rights bodies to take effective measures for the safety of Kashmiri people who are being deprived from every right including ‘right to live’.

Moreover, Jama’at expresses its deep sympathy with those who have been injured in forces action. Also urges United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other human rights bodies to use its good offices for the resolution of Kashmir dispute so that the barbarity perpetrated by Indian forces will be stopped.

Forces involved in brutal human rights violations, says Jama’at

Advocate Zahid Ali under constant illegal detention for more than two months

Srinagar: Indian forces personnel are badly involved in the blatant violations of the fundamental rights of unarmed Kashmiris with a nefarious design to crush the ongoing peaceful public movement started about four months back for achievement of the birth right ‘right to self-determination’. The two most vital fundamental rights of life and personal liberty of the civilians are most affected as in the last 116 days, nearly one hundred innocent persons mostly youth have been brutally killed, thousands badly injured including hundreds made blind and hundreds other made permanently disabled. Moreover thousands of people stand illegally detained under various draconian laws and these detainees are given an inhumane treatment in most of the jails and deprived of the basic amenities to which they are entitled to under the international laws as well as the jail manuals. The gory incident which happened on 1st of November, in the district jail Baramullah is the result o this atrocious attitude. When the detenues in this jail protested against the careless attitude of the jail authorities towards an ailing inmate crying in pain, the jail superintendent Mrs. Rajni Sehgal, instead of providing medical care to him, called in the police force and ordered ruthless beating of the inmates and indiscriminate firing upon them, resulting in the injuries to a number of protestors.

Jama’at also expresses its deep anguish over the constant illegal detention of Advocate Zahid Ali in sub-jail Kothibagh, whose detention is quite unjustified and based on flimsy grounds under section 107 Cr PC. In order to prolong his unwarranted detention, his custody is changed from one police station to another. Initially he was arrested by police station Batamaloo and now his custody stands shifted to police station Shaheed Gunj. Police is procuring orders to keep in arrest without producing before the concerned Magistrate.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while expressing deep sorrow over this lawlessness of Indian forces and police, appeals the Kashmir Bar Association, to take an effective legal course for stopping this state sponsored terrorism against the hapless people.

Jama’at expresses grave concern over state sponsored barbarism, tyranny

Srinagar: The group of people holding the throne have given a license to the Indian forces and police to arrest the youth indiscriminately, to cause damage to the public properties on a large scale, to use unbridled force against the unarmed people under which as per the reports ten thousand Kashmiris stand detained under various black laws and lodged in different police stations, interrogation centers and jails in and outside the valley and hundreds of the populated areas devastated throughout Kashmir. In addition to it, the detained youth are kept in the police lock-ups for days together in a very humiliating condition without producing them before the courts or any legal authority which is mandatory under law. But in order to justify their detention, the extension orders of their arrest are procured from the Magistrates having insufficient legal knowledge who even sitting in their own offices attends the police stations for signing these readymade orders. Have those holding the reigns and pretending to be the sympathizers of Kashmiris, uttered a single word against the barbarities and vandalism committed by these Indian forces personnel upon the hapless people here? In Rohmu Pulwama, these very merciless personnel fired hundreds of bullets and pellets besides indiscriminate tear gas shelling upon the protesting villagers including men, women and children with the result the eyes of three innocent young girls were hit by pellets besides scores others who got injured and the public property was damaged and the inmates beaten to the pulp without any legal or moral justification. Have these pseudo sympathizers protested against this brutality and savagery? Similarly people in Moolu Chitragam Shopian were treated like animals by these democratic and disciplined brave personnel! Have these inhuman actions shaken their conscience? The world is witnessing the inhuman brutalities being committed upon Kashmiri people for raising their voice against the state barbarism and atrocities and for demanding their birth right of self-determination but is mum!

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while expressing its grave concern over the state sponsored barbarism and tyranny against the unarmed civilians here, denounces it vehemently and impresses upon forthwith unconditional release of all political prisoners and detainees mostly consisting of youth. It further appeals the international and Indian human rights bodies and intellectuals to visit the valley and observe the worst conditions prevailing over here and use their good offices to stop this state terrorism. Jama’at also appeals the local high court t take suo-moto notice and issue necessary directions to the administration for protection of human lives and public properties in the similar way it took suo-moto notice of the school burning issue as the protection of human life is much more important than that of the school buildings.
